Great Endeavour Rally 2010
CAR 925 - "The Ruby Legends"
“The Ruby Legends" completed another exciting adventure on the Great Endeavour Rally. 2010 saw a slight change in team members, with Karen Shepherd sitting out to allow for a new member to take on the challange (Rachel Paris, Herron Todd White Australia) joined existing team members Elisabeth Ranson and Kerry McLeish (Herron Todd White Newcastle).
New car for 2010….
The trusty Toyota Hilux (its true that you can’t break ‘em) that has been part and parcel of the rally efforts for the past 3 years was temporarily (we hope!) retired for 2010 so we’ve got ourselves a new car. With a lot of effort and funraising we managed toget it set up with all of the required equipment before the start of the race. With a new car meant an ideal opportunity to source new sponsors, which we are very proud to detail below.
2010 saw us driving in a 2005 Toyota Prado – which meant that we travelled in style and comfort! Toyota ended up with a new name for their car, with "The Ruby Ledgends" car being known as a PRADA!!
Westpac Marketing
In 2010 had a new Principal Sponsor on board. Westpac Marketing and The Ruby Connection teamed up with The Ruby Legends, demonstrating the commitment that Westpac has to assisting women in the community. For more information please visit www.therubyconnection.com.au
A great big thanks to Andrew, Georgia, Tami and Jessica for all of their help and support.
East Coast Bullbars
We were also very pleased that East Coast Bullbars also supported “The Ruby Legends” through the supply and installation of some very vital safety equipment for the new car. Thank you very much to Paul and the team for all of their support!
New Team Name
In light of the new sponsors above, and the fact of a slight difference in the team – we said goodbye to the “Aussie Maids” and became known as “The Ruby Legends”
Team Members
- Elisabeth Ranson
- Kerry McLeish

2010 Rally Information
Burleigh to Bargara – via the Bush, Bays n Beaches
The 2010 Great Endeavour Rally took place from 13th to 22nd July . The rally participants were treated to 3,500 klms of fabulous scenery as we travelled from Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, down into NSW, before ending up at Bargara, near Bundaberg, 10 days later. Although the days were short in distance, that was surely made up with the difficulty. The first day saw us travelling on some fairly easy roads lulling us into a full sense of security before puncturing our first tyre on the second waco. The tyre was changed with some difficulty, and by the end we realised that we really weren't prepared for a flat tyre. We pulled in to town to stock up on supplies with the thought that now we have this we won't need it. We were wrong. The second day saw lots of mud and second punctured tyre although this one we were fully prepared for. The rest of the rally days went quite smooth with some great scenery along the way, however on the last day it was inevitable, another tyre puncture, leaving all three team members responsible for one tyre each.
