Company History
From its humble beginnings in 1968 with one valuer -Kerry Herron- and one secretary, in a room under a house in Rockhampton, Herron Todd White has expanded for over 40 years and now boasts nearly 60 offices nation wide!
Kerry decided to target Rockhampton first because he knew the area well and business soon started to pick up. In 1973 Alan Todd was the first valuer to join the practice. This was the catalyst for the expansion of other offices in the neighbouring regions including:
- Gladstone in 1974
- Townsville in 1981
- Mackay in 1983
- Cairns in 1984
- Maryborough in 1985
- Toowoomba in 1985
Herron Todd White Valuers officially came into being on 1st January 1987, when Herron Todd Valuers united with White & Gardiner, therefore adding Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast offices. In 1988 Kerry moved from Rockhampton to the Gold Coast office, which was the head office at that time. Kerry had been joint Managing Director since 1st January 1987, however it was becoming increasingly difficult to continue to perform that function from Rockhampton.
The merger resulted in the company going from strength to strength. The company expanded further opening an office in Sydney in 1988.
The Rural Division of Herron Todd White was launched on 20th February 1989. Herron Todd White also opened offices in Adelaide and Parramatta in 1989.
With the business expanding rapidly the Directors decided in 1991 to restructure the organisation. The end result was the formation of an organisation under Herron Todd White (Australia) Pty Ltd. The new company commenced on 1st July 1991 and it forms "an umbrella" under which all the other entities operate.
