Chairman - Gavin Hulcombe

Certified Practising Valuer (CPV)

Gavin is a Director of Herron Todd White in the Brisbane Residential division where he deals in all forms of specialised residential property valuation, including apartment projects, land subdivisions and prestige housing. Gavin's early training as a valuer was within the Queensland Government after which he transferred across to Herron Todd White where he has grown from a junior valuer to National Chairman of Directors.

In addition to his Board role with Herron Todd White, Gavin sits on a number of other boards and advisory committees both within the not-for-profit and commercial environments. Gavin is married with three young children.

Bill Waterhouse

Certified Practising Valuer (CPV)

Bill has been a CPV for over 20 years, and has held senior positions in Commercial Sales, Leasing and Management before starting a practice as an independent valuer in 1991. He has a keen interest in the Valuation profession and has been involved with the API for over ten years. He served as the State President of the API for two years and represented South Australia as a National Councillor for two years.

Bill has a young family that has unfortunately ended his cricket career but he has recently taken up road cycling. He also plays tennis but that is more of an excuse to partake in a few red wines with friends.

Brendon Ptolomey

Certified Practising Valuer (CPV)

Brendon has been with Herron Todd White for over 8 years having started with the Perth office as a trainee valuer and progressed to become Managing Director. Brendon holds a Bachelor of Business in Valuation and Land Economy from Curtin University. He specialises in valuation of Prestige Residential Properties, land subdivisions and project development. Brendon is an Associate of the Australian Property Institute and a Divisional Councillor of the West Australian Division.

When not in the office Brendon can be found supporting his beloved West Coast Eagles, in a good coffee shop or testing the quality of the food and wines in Perth's restaurants.

To balance these interests Brendon has competed in two Rottnest Channel Swims and participated in the Herron Todd White team in corporate triathalons. Brendon and his wife are very excited to be expecting their first child in the near future.

David Nilon

Certified Practising Valuer (CPV)

With a penchant for gadgets and the newest of new technology in the valuation sphere, David has valued all classes of property during his career which now sees him running our Toowoomba office.

David has always been nuts about pecans and has finally decided to turn his passion into a reality, he and his family now grow pecans on their farm. David successfully ventured right to the tip of Cape York where he and his family had some wild 4WD adventures.

Mark Quinn

Certified Practising Valuer (CPV)

Mark has been with Herron Todd White for over 10 years and is a Director of the Cairns office. He specialises in residential projects and subdivisions and loves the diversity that comes with being a valuer. His passion is business development, and is often at the various eateries along the Cairns Esplanade. He is involved in groups including The Cairns Amateurs, UDIA and is also on the School Board for St Francis Xavier's, where his children attend school.

Mark loves nothing more than extreme sports on the Atherton Tablelands where his wife and two children spend time skiing, wake boarding and relaxing.

House Valuation

Tod Gillespie

Certified Practising Valuer (CPV)

Tod has been a Gold Coast resident since 1979 and has been with Herron Todd White for over 14 years. Tod cut his teeth in the residential projects division where he specialised in home unit projects, land subdivisions and prestige housing. In 2003, Tod set up the Prestige Residential Division where he specialises in the prestige sector of the market and has valued all types of luxury property from Byron Bay to north of Airlie Beach. Tod is an associate of the Australian Property Institute and holds a Bachelor of Business in Property Studies from University of Queensland.

Tod regularly presents at property seminars and is well known on the Gold Coast Lunch and Corporate Golf Day Circuit. Outside of the office, Tod is keen cyclist and has completed numerous charity rides and also followed 8 stages of the Tour De France. After a break of 14 years he has decided to take up triathlons again and one day hopes to complete an Ironman (swim 3.8km, cycle 180km, run 42.2km).
